Roger Federer Through To Fourth Round In US Open 2010

Roger Federer Through To Fourth Round In US Open 2010 – Roger Federer, the five time US Open champion has gone through to the fourth round of the tournament in New York after beating French Paul Henri Mathieu in yesterdays match. Reports claim that Federer, 29, did not have to play at his best yesterday as he sailed through to the last sixteen with ease. Novak Djokovic knocked out one of the favourites in the tournament, James Blake. The other player to go on to the last sixteen was Swedish Robin Soderling, after he also beat his opponent with little trouble at all.

Federer said in an interview that the conditions in the Arthur Ashe Stadium were not the best, adding that they were blustery. He said “Playing in the wind is so hard. Against the wind it only takes a little bit of a bad serving game and the other guy is back in the match. I think I did a good job on the front”.

He went on to explain how he was taking chances at the right times during the game, and playing it safe when he needed to. However, he added that he thinks that his opponent found it difficult towards the end of the match.

Federer fans will be very pleased at the fact that the tennis star has managed to get in to the final sixteen of the tournament. There are a lot of extremely talented players in the tournament, so the results are going to be very difficult to predict.
